Electric Brake Control

Anyone here know the difference on how to wire a electric brake control on the 2003 GM's than previous years. Some one told me the wiring had changed on the 2003 that when your headlights were on your electric brakes would be on if you wired it up like on the previous models. Is this the case ? Thanks in advance for any info as I will be installing the one out of my old truck into my 2003.

You can release the pins and swap two wires. Switch terminal A and D and it will work fine.

I just ended up buying the 2003 wireing harness from camping world from tekonsha. just plugged it up and worked with no problems. This was with the prodigy brake control as you didn't mention what brand you are using.

Yes swapping of the two wires works fine.

yep the swap worked....i even checked with a company that specializes in trailer wiring...they told me to do the same thing...

Where is the elctric brake wire located in the cab? I see my 2000 is pre wired back at the rear of the truck but I cannot locate the wire up under the dash. Please help. (Light Blue)

The box is just above your left foot on the floor. The harness plugs into the the socket second from the left in the top row.

It's really a snap to do. Them, just plug in your brake controller and go.

The manual outlines this pretty good. If you're pulling a travel trailer, don't forget the tower fuse under the hood. If you don't do this, the trailer battery won't charge while being towed.
