Too many #### choices

K.  Regearing is out of the picture for now.  Just shelled out $5K for the lift and tires/wheels so I have to build up the $1200 to regear from the stock 3.73s to 4.56s.

So instead I am opting for an aftermarket programmer.  Obviously hypertech is the most well known but at $350 + $50 for the powerstat + $labor to install the powerstat it's already pushing close to $500.

Other chips like ADS superchip claim that you get performance gains at part and fully open throttle positions.  Plus there is no requirement for a 160 degree thermostat.  But it only optimizes for 91 and 93 octane fuels, which now are pushing $2 bucks a gallon.  This bad boy clocks in at about $419 (according to their website).

Then there is the Jet Performance chip.  About the same as the hypertech for about the same price.  So I would probably opt for the hypertech because of the performance reputation.

Or should I take the $500 and save it to drop the front driveshaft and just regear the rear then regear the front later?

Which would give the best gains right now?

Don't just regear one end without doing the other if you plan to use your 4wd anytime soon. The end result is not good.

You should be able to get the Hypertech and the Powerstat combo for around 325 if you look close enough. Also,it takes about 30 minutes to flush the radiator and install the new Stat as well as refilling your coolant. You really should look in to doing it yourself.
