NP 261 LD rebuild, Anyone ever use the NP261 HD gears +chain

Hey Guys,

My transfer case always did make noise, but now the chain is definetly slipping. Its a NP261 LD manual shift. So I figured pull it out, replace chain , do the pump knock case mod and reinstall. While purchasiing parts (case saver, rebuild kit, pump chain etc) the supplier initially gave me the chain for the NP 261 HD (1.5 inch chain) instead of the 1.25inch chain. This got me thinking. Accordiing to the parts info the case is the same. Has anyone installed the HD sprockets and Chain in the LD HP 261 while rebuilding the T case? The parts guy stated they should fit.
