2005 Silverado 5.3 infamous lifter tick along with vacuum leak?

Well I'm new here. I made a post in the new member section. Anyways, my 05 silverado has the 5.3 with 98k on it. I recently replaced the intake manifold gasket with the good felpro metal gasket because I noticed my plugs where white in color indicating to me that it's running lean and I noticed a hissing noise from the driver side of the intake manifold. After some research I saw many people say the factory gasket is only good for the garbage. So I replaced it, turns out it was in decent condition. Anyways, all back together and still hear that hissing noise. I checked all the vacuum lines visually. So in my desperation, I took a video in which you can hear the hissing noise, along with the lifter tick.

 

On a side note, from all your guys exeriance with these. Is this noise alright? This video was taken just after I changed the oil with 5w-30 mobile one full synthetic and using an AC Delco filter. Oil pressure on warm idle shows a steady 40psi.

It's probably the PCV line that comes off the back of the driver's side valve cover. It may not even be leaking. You may be hearing the sound of air movement through the line. Many have reported when adding an oil catch can to the PCV system they can hear a hissing noise. It's just airflow sound through the line, fittings and can

 

There is another line on the passenger side that starts right at the throttle body and goes into the intake. It's fresh air supply for the PCV system

Okay, if not a vacuum leak, what would cause the plug to look white? Granted I have the cold air intake and dual exhaust, but I wouldn't think that would cause the truck to run lean. I don't have a programmer yet.

 

Here is what they looked like when i pulled them. I replaced them with AC Delco.

 

 

Oh and on a side note, I'm not a big fan of the g80...

These engines are tuned pretty lean from the factory. Unless you're getting O2 sensor codes or readings indicating that it's lean I'd think you're ok. From what I can tell in the pic, the plugs look good and normal. I'll look at them again on a larger screen.

 

Check the vacuum line to the booster and the booster itself for vacuum leak
