A good friend of mine and occasional visitor,Andrew Ferguson aka ZR2Chevy22, took a nice boar back in November with a lever action .308.It was a nice clean headshot from approximately 130 yds.

Here are some pics of his kill.Be warned, even though some of the pictures turned out dark there is blood involved so don't spew on your monitor if you have a weak stomach.

I like this new forum area...good idea.  As for the boar, I have never seen a live one so I don't know what's a big boar and what's a small boar but that one looks pretty d@mn big!  Nice kill.  Is he taking it to the taxadermist (spelling?) or what is he doing with it?

Very nice looking! :thumb:

Nah they processed it into different cuts and fresh sausage.

That definitely was not a small hog.It dressed out at about 260 so it did indeed have some size though it's by far not the biggest one I have seen.

My youngest brother took one about 5-6 years ago that took 3 full grown adults to put on the tailgate of my old C1500 after it was dressed. We weighed that one in at 382 lbs.

Been gone a week and we started a hunting forum, sweeeeeeet!! Hey I got all kinds of dead animal pictures, just not on disc. Whered he kill the pork chops?? Wouldnt send it to taxidermist unless teeth are at least 3 1/2 inches. But they are fun to kill, night hunting legally is a rush.      :D

He took it from some property my parents own in Centerville,Tx which is about halfway between Houston and Dallas.

That Toyota is a bad little mutha btw. That belongs to the older of my two younger brothers and it's stitting on 33" MTR's.It pretty much goes anywhere most trucks can.

That doesn't surprise me in the least. With all of the different strands they've let loose there are some pretty interesting breeds and color combonations running around.

The one in the picture link is actually a Russian Boar and in east Texas you still find many of those at any given time.

On his land, there are a couple different color combos.  Baydogs and bulldogs were used to find and help catch the hogs.  Sometimes, dogs are used, sometimes just guns.  How do ya'll hunt 'em?

We usually use timed feeders.

The get very used to corn being dropped at a certain time or times everyday and get very predictable not long after a feeding cycle is initiated.
