I just got a 1986 High Sierra and i am wondering for one what is the stock engine in it? And what can i add to it to make it better for offroading?

The stock engine could be the 4.3 v6 the 305 small block v8, the 350 small block v8 and the 454 big block v8. Lift kit, shocks, wench, and tires. As for tires for street and off road on a daily driver I would reconmend BF Goodrich all terrain ta ko. That is the start. What budget are you working with?

Quality tires, lockers, and shocks will make all the difference offroad. Add to that a winch for sticky situations, and you'll be in good shape. As far as the motor keep it running cool and maintained and you'll be set. Post a pic or VIN and someone will know which motor you have.

Emphasis on the LOCKERS if you really want to go offroad.

Hopefully you got one with a 350 in it! I myself recently acquired a 78 high sierra to!! Get you a 4inch rough country susp lift and some 37s, get a locker and some gears for the rear and your good to go!

Got any pics of her?
