headlights 2006 chevy 1500 issue

ok so i have a 2006 chevy 1500 4x4 ex cab short bed now my lights only work on auto turn them on only the parking lights work and the fog lights work as well lost some one had put a jumper in the relays to keep the high low on with the high beems on well i took the little wires out an still the same thing the lights only work on auto. i can't seem to figure it out i don't have any trailer lights when trailer is hooked up but do have brake lights thinking it may be the multefuntion switch ? any ideas anyone ever run in to this problem and with the head light swtch on theres no power to the head lights. when they are on auto theres power because they work. ?
