ANOTHER evap code issue

If rock auto has it at that price that would be where I would buy it. The NAPA one was the AC Delco one too. I got my new shackles from rock this winter and that was going to be another GM screwing. NAPA didn't have the part and I started to hunt. Found Rock Auto. They had the work stock number on the bolts and sent the wrong ones but they fixed the problem quick. Parts came fast. They have a ton of parts for my truck at a great price. I got both shackles for $20 less than 1 at GM.

I went to Autozone and asked if they could look up a GM or AC Delco part number, the guy at the counter said he couldn't but asked what vehicle it was for. I told him the vehicle but I wanted a part that wasn't for my truck. He looked up the "correct" part and said it was $125. Told him the one I want is probably sitting on the shelf right next to the expensive one. So the idiot lost a sale. I went to Advance Auto where the girl (kinda hot one too) said she could look up either number and did. Got the 214-2149 for $23 out the door. I was concerned that the connector might not fit but it does, just fine. Installed the new part in less than 5 minutes and now I need to get the code reset. I read that this code sometimes won't rest on it's own and some people say it needs 3 good cycles to clear. This morning on my grocery shopping errands will be cycle #3 so if it doesn't clear, I'll get it cleared.

Mine self cleared right away. Just remember not to overfill your tank now. When the nozzle clicks off stop pumping.

Mine self cleared from the battery being disconnected. But after a 60km cycle it came back on. My mechanic said he would probably have to clear it. That reminds me, I have to make a visit.

That code was also showing up. I would clear it and it would show up a few days later. I ordered the part off of Amazon and got the two pieces, heater hose, clamps and all that. When I got under the truck to fix this the oem canister just had one outlet. So I don't know if this is still causing the code to show up or what, putting in a new canister with two outlets. At a loss at the moment. New part is in and can't fill my gas tank steadily without the pump clicking off every $2. Hate this !!

All codes self clear people ,,,OUT OF HISTORY if repaired ,,,,if the light turns on again ,,,, it's a hard code and NOT repaired ,

 

Taking the truck to a shop to clear an active code is well ...... Dumb.... Sorry,

 

I had to do it at the dealership in a small town several times for free ,,, made me insane cuz it was a waste of time but made the old farts happy I guess

 

If you guys have ever read the complete diagnostic trouble code chart it tells what trips the code ,how it self clears,what parameters it takes to run the test ,,etc etc , insane information ,

 

Buy service information folks ,,,,

 

My 2 cents , I did all this for awhile , I still care and want to help , I'm drinking in Vegas and is all good lmao !!!
