2003 HD's and beyond.......

I presently own a 2002 2500HD Reg cab 6.0L and love everything about this truck. But now I need more room then the regular cab has to offer. I am going to purchase an Extra Cab or Crew Cab DMax...but I dont like the way the 2003 HD's look exactly like the NON HD's. I love the buldge on the 2002's ... and I dont know why Chevy didnt do something to differenitiate the 2003 from the rest of its fleet ????

Does anybody have any insight to what the 2004 HD has to offer. ????

I sent an E-mail directly to Chevy and I received the standard corporate response selling me a 2003 - but with no info pertaining to the 2004's (as expected).

If anybody has any 'inside' information - this would be greatly appreciated !!!! - before I go out and buy that 'F' brand !!!

:(

Thanks

I haven't heard of anything, but maybe Mervz has (site Administrator).

The '03 HD's have a better stance than the 1500's but you are correct when you say the front clip looks too much like the 1500 series truck.

As far as your next purchase, I'd highly recommend the crewcab truck!!!  I (and everyone else that rides in my truck) really appreciate the extra room it has to offer!!!

BTW, Welcome to the forum.

Yeah I agree with you.  I thought the pre-03 HD body style was one of the best looking pickups on the market.  Not that I think the new 03 style is bad looking but GM did mess up some good sheet metal when they did away with that last HD hood.

Heck, don't be afraid!  Go buy the "F" brand.  I did and can finally look at myself in the mirror again after only about 6 months of owning it! :jester:  No big deal! :(

I ordered an extended cab 02 2500HD 4x4 when they first came out. Half way through the wait, I changed my mind and had them find me a Crew cab. Not much more $$ at all! I needed the extra room for a car seat, your reasons may be different, but when I used my friend's extended cab it was a real PITA trying to get 4 people out at the same time in a crowded parking lot! ??? ??? ??? ??? Kept getting trapped in the 2 open doors.

I'd definately recommend the CC version of whatever brand you decide to buy! ( :( )

Good luck

Yes, the sales guy was pissed at me for canning on the 1st ordered one. My friend works in the parts Dept there and got me a great deal on that CC truck from another city. The original sales guy wouldn't sell it to me after I canned on the 1st one. So the sales manager did it and got the easiest sale ever. (Maybe not the most commission, but the best surveys and recommendations from me) :thumb:

Thanks for the replys guys....As for the GMC - thats what I am leaning torwards right now...I parked my truck right next to the GMC and they are almost identical...except for the hood.

Thanks for the insight on the CC.... There are so many desicions to make on this 40000 dollar truck...

Diesel or Big Block Gas ??

Extra Cab or Crew Cab ??

Chevy or GMC ??

I want to make sure I do this one right this time,.....If I have to hear the wife tell me ... :jester:  "I told you so" one more time..............I think I might go.... :(

thanks

I would suspect that we will not see many changes in the full

size trucks until the GMT 900's come out (late 2005?).  I have

heard some rumors about 2004.  First off, the Duramax is

supposed to get redesigned heads and turbo (and with that

more h.p. and torque).  Displacement on Demand will be

offered on some 5.3L's.  Hybird versions of some models are

on the way.  Borg Warner transfer cases on some models.

And, get this- a straight front axle option on 2500/3500HD 4X4's.

I have no idea how reliable any of this is.

Thats a lot of changes. I really wouldn't expect any of those to happen, but you never know.

Seems like we would have something carved in stone by now. ???

Hmm... thats interesting...let see if any of those show up...I did hear the same thing about the 5.3....but as solid front axle??? hmm interesting.

Lets see if anybody has anymore info....there has to be someone on this website that works there or has seen or heard more rumors ????
