ipod adapter for 2003 silverado1500 extended cab

I recently purchased a used 2003 Silverado with a "BOSE" 6 speaker sound system. Radio, CD, tape player. I bought a used radio from ebay with an "AUX" button to connect a GEO ION ipod adapter. I sent the ebay unit to a local shop to unlock it. When I installed the ebay GM radio the head unit lights up, the steering wheel controls work for the radio AND the ipod BUT....no sound. When I connect the ebay GM radio to the vehicle WITHOUT the geo ion interface the sound still does not work. Is there a trick to getting this operational or do I now own yet another paper weight? ANY advice would be appreciated.

If you have Bose, I believe only certain radios are compatible with your vehicle. There is an amp in the center console that handles audio output. The head unit sends signals to it to power the speakers.

Another solution if your able to off load or return that unit is to get an iSimple ISGM 575 I believe. It's a little box that will sit in line with the radio and hijack the XM signal. It will still retain the XM capabilities though.

This is the route I went.
