04 gmc tachometer not working need help!

Hi I have a 04 gmc sierra 1500 slt with 54,000 miles and my tach is dead all other gauges are good. What is most likely the problem?

I'd bet 5$ its the cluster.

Borrow 1 from a friends truck and see if that works. Then u know if its the cluster or not

Have the same problem, guy who I bought my truck from said the only was to fix would be to send to gm and pay $75 plus shipping, interested in what people say looking to get mine fixed too. I might try going to a dealer.

Thats false! Go to a salvage yard and pull an 03-06 cluster!

or just replace the stepper motor yourself. google it there is tons of info on it. very easy

Will a salvage cluster have correct mileage? I dont want to hurt the value of my truck
