I was wondering is their any real difference between the factory theftloc radios and the factory bose radios? Or is it the bose speakers that make it factory bose  sound better? ???

The answer to your question is probably variable with each different make and model, so you would need to be more specific. You can find out quite a bit of info on the Bose web site.

I'll take a stab at it though using my Bravada as an example. To the best of my knowledge the Bose system in my truck has a different head unit, different speakers, and I believe adds an amp. One feature that's really interesting on the Bose system in my Bravada is a feature called AudioPilot. There's a microphone that continuously monitors the total sound level inside the car- both the music you want to hear and the noise you don’t. Then, Bose digital electronics separate the music from the noise, and use a compensation algorithm to modify the signal continuously. The other method for achieving this is the head unit increasing the volume based on speed which I had on my previous vehicle. It worked but not as well as this AudioPilot feature does.

When I got my Bravada I made sure to find dealers that had all the different head units so I could judge for myself and I found the Bose system made a big improvement over the next step down from it.

It seems that most people feel that you can get better speakers in the aftermarket realm, and I wouldn't disagree with that. What your not going to get though is features like the AudioPilot in an aftermarket head unit that I know of. IMHO you can probably get close to the best of both worlds by going with the Bose head unit and adding better aftermarket speakers later on.

Keep in mind though that depending on the year, make, and model, the factory Bose head unit might not have any special features at all, you'll have to research that. For example if you go to this Bose web page you'll see that the AudioPilot is only available on a limited amount of makes and models.
