2001 Chevy blazer stereo wiring question

Working on my stereo system currently, and have a couple of questions. My blazer has a 1.5 din head unit that i took out, i purchased a 1 din for it, and the wire harness and stuff. But there is an extra wire harmess that plugs into the factory stereo other than the normal one with the auto on and off and speaker outputs etc. Anyone have a clue as to what this extra wiring harness is? Is it crucial or can i get away without plugging it in? Thanks for any help!

And also, can anyone tell me, or produce a link showing how to take the rear door panels off from the blazer? I've searched and searched that panel, there is only one screw. i take it out pull it out and all the clips surrounding the pamel all pop out, but right in the middle it is still bolted or pinned in and i cant get it off. I dont really want to break my panel, so if anyone knows how that be great.
