You can not transfer a warranty from vehicle to vehicle you will get some of your pro rated money back, say you paid $2500 for the warranty now when you trade or sell in 1 year you will get back like $1800 bucks, 2 years $1400 bucks and so on but don't quote me on those amounts there just for an example.

well that sucks, just goes to show why its smart not to buy the extended warranty until the factory warranty is about to run out.

No, I Disagree. My 2014 Denali, that I put 7000 miles a year on and trade in every 2 years does not deem an extended warranty. Could I have bought the warranty, but time always exceeds mileage in my case.

 

My 2014 Chevy Cruze that I put 25k a year on as a company car, validates the warranty. Most problems occur after the 3/36 expires.

 

A GMPP can be negotiated on price. With a little internet research, you can look up dealer cost. For me to pay $450 for a $0 deductible/ 6 year warranty pays for its self. All it takes is 1 decent repair and you recoup your initial investment. The dealer still gets credit for the extended warranty sale. Yes, they made nothing on it, but most people who buy cars don't leverage the fact that they are a "total package customer." A dealer makes money on warranty repairs, service, and the front end of a new car sale. Not to mention a profit on a trade in.

 

I am not poor, but realize the value in repair cost ona a high mileage vehicle.
