Shock length questions

Since the slight suspension mods I have arent stock or extreme, for the shocks I want I have to kind of piece it together.

Since I have a 2.5 inch coil leveling kit can I use a shock for a 3 inch coil lift and use a stock height 4wd shock on the rear? My rear is 1.5 inches higher than stock but still a half inch shy of the stock 4wd.

Basically will being short a half inch all around have much effect?

I'm thinkin you will probably be ok. You would probably only run into issues if you were going offroading and had a chance to bottom out the suspension.

Thats what I was thinking, but my options are like 1-1.5" too short or .5" too long. I am pretty sure my current Bilstein 4600's are too short since they were installed at stock height about 75,000 miles ago.

Also future plans for the truck include being a tow slut since the Ram 2500 we have is getting sold and it will lose the 20's and get 275/70R17E's. No major off roading. Most my property is hard packed dirt with no ruts or hills.
