Total price was $208.12 for labor, 2.5 gts of fluid and tax on the fluid. Couldn't get on it, the instructions have a 150 mile break in for it. Just drving around town it seemed to drive a touch different, took a little more gas to get the truck moving from a stop. I watched the tach and the rpm's went up to about 2300-2400 when I pressed the gas a little after I was already rolling. Is that normal for a higher stall converter? I don't expect a drastic difference but it felt like the truck drove a bit different. I got on the freeway about half pedal and the truck seemed to go a little better, from the exhaust note, the rpm's didn't drop as much between shifts as before. I think it'll make a nice little difference, not drastci but a difference. I'll post back when I can get on it and see what it'll do to my 0-60 times.

What you were describing is completely normal for a higher stall converter.  It will rev a bit more to get the truck moving.  Also a feature of a lot of Yank converters is a shorter shift extension, which means the RPM drop between gears will be less.  Once you get used to it, I think you'll love it   Congrats on the purchase, Yank makes awesome converters!

Do you know by chance what the STR on that converter is?

This is the mildest stall convertar Yank makes for the 4.8L & 5.3L engines. It's really nothing more than a restalled stock 300mm GM converter, the STR is suppose to be same as stock 1.9. But I can tell from driving it that the STR isn't the same, definitly less RPM drop between shifts, maybe 200 rpms. Their 2600 and up converters are 280MM and have STR's in the 2.1-2.3 range. They also start at $650 and up, this one was $384 delivered. It's a conservative converter but that suits me just fine.

Yank said it will lower my 0-60 and 1/4 times by .2-.3 seconds, that's good enough for me for the money I spent. The Yank 2600 gives you .3-.4 but it's like $650+, 2800 is worth .4-.5 but it's like $740. For me, .1 seconds the 2600 delivered wasn't worth another $280. This one will be just fine, next are headers, already saving.
