Dome and Cargo lamp?

On my 94 K1500 neither the dome light or the cargo lamp work. The third brake light does work though. I have put in new bulbs and checked the fuses. When I use the dimmer switch to turn on the interior lights on only the two under the dash work. The two smaller lights next to the dome light that you turn on with the button beside them both work. Also when the door is open only the two under the dash work. Any ideas what to check next? Thanks  Bob ???

Do you have your cargo lamp switch turned on inside the truck? If it is off ,your cargo lamp will not work? You probably already know this though. Good luck in finding your problem !

It sounds like a ground problem with the dome lamp, the same wire that powers the two small lamps powers the dome lamp as well, if there is power to them, it probably has power. the dome switches actually supply the ground to control the dome lamp. Check your dome overide switch, if it's not the problem, check out the ground wire from the upper dome lamp to the other courtesy lights.

I can look up at the dome light and see a white wire that is screwed into the plastic write beside the bulb, also I can see a orange wire and a white wireup behind the lamp,looks like they could be leading to the cargo lamp. Are any of these the ground wire? How could I check the dimmer switch? I figured it was okay because it turns the other interior lights on. Thanks  Bob
