Cree LED lights say do not use with dust covers

im not trying to jack anyones thread, but i just installed a set of LED's in my 2014 today. With the key off they work flawlessly. When i start the truck, after about 20 seconds or so the passenger side goes out shortly followed by the driver side. Then after turning them off and waiting a few seconds, i can turn them back on manually and they stay on a few seconds and then go out all over again. is this caused by the DRL/auto-on function or possibly because i have the dust caps in place causing them to overheat that quick? I was thinking maybe i need the LED capacitor harness for the LEDs to function proplerly. thanks in advance for anyone that can help.

Yes, it has to do with the DRL as the current is lower for DRL and the LED's have trouble running at that lower current. There has been conversations on this... I believe there is a fix.

Much about it. I have an HID relay harness of my old Silverado but it's for 9006. I don't really know what all I need to buy to correct this. Thanks again.

swhite14 you are not along i got the same problem on the led bulb as well ,and my led high beam bulb is on the way hopfully the high beam led will not go through all the problem again

Just run a relay from battery triggered by your existing high beam wire and have it output to a new 9005 harness to your LED bulbs.

The DRL will trigger the relay; thus releasing the full power to your LED bulbs.

A fog lamp harness can fix this problem along with other small parts. You just need to wire it correctly.
