2003 chevy suburban navigation not working

Hi, I am new to this, I recently put a factory navigation system in my 2003 chevy suburban with the z71 package. The navigation unit is unlocked, and I can barely hear the music coming from my speakers, but my buttons on the navigation unit itself as well as the buttons on the steering wheel do not work, and so I cannot change volume, also the key in ignition chime does not work, from what I was told that was linked up to the radio/navigation. Any help much appreciated.

Do you have the correct harness? I think you need a different amp but im not sure. All 03+ z burbs have bose

Perhaps the BCM needs to be updated by dealer to enable the NAV system. The door chime is played through the radio, so, the low volume issue will mean you won't hear the chimes.
