GM oil quantity from 8.5 to 8 qts?

I like how they issue a TSB/SI whatever that is, but then if you go to chevrolet.com and downloaded the latest owner's manual version it still shows 8.5 US Quarts for the 5.3L. At my 2nd free oil change I told the dealer not to overfill the engine oil, and they didn't. I did the last oil change myself with M1 Extended Performance 0-20 and did 8.5 qt. b/c I did not know about this change yet. It's slightly overfilled. So 8.0 qt. is the way to go. Wish they would update the online owner's manual at least.
