HVAC air blend door

I have a 2005 Silverado extended cab. I was in the process of replacing the actuator for the drivers side blend door when I broke the tab at the bottom of the door. Is there anyway to replace the door (I already have a new door but don't know how to get to it to change it)? Haynes book doesn't really tell how to get to it but I thought about trying to remove the blower motor to try and get all the way over to it (the blend door).any help is appreciated.

The dash pad has to go along with the structure , everything goes except the HVAC air box ,

 

Then that is removed and split and door replaced .... Ask me how I know this

So I have to take the whole dash apart to fix it?

Yea entire dash. And them have to unhook heater core, a/c evap core and remove hvac case.
