09 Silverado 5.3 flex fuel, fuel system problems

Hello new to the forum, I have a 09 Silverado 5.3 flex fuel ext. Cab a couple months ago I ran the truck out of gas (not sure if that has anything to do with the problem) put gas in it and it started right up but the check engine light was on. A couple days later the truck shuts off the fuel pump wouldn't run. After I towed it home it started working again after that it kept giving me problems where the fuel pump would shut off it then stopped completely I just replaced the pump and still nothing please help I was thinking it might be the fpcm but not sure.
