First Silverado and new member!

Hello everyone! I'm a new member and the owner of my first Silverado. I've been looking through this forum for a while and decided to join. I figured i'd take the opportunity to give an honest review on my Silverado as of now. To start off I bounced around on what truck I wanted. The new Tundra was my favorite and felt the most like a true truck but the biggest issue was Toyota wouldn't play with their prices any so it came down to a new RAM and a Silverado. (I couldn't get over Fords new "Lazy eye" headlights!) With my wife working at a dealership I was able to use employee discount and GM discount and landed a decent deal on my 15 Silverado LT 4X4. My previous truck was an 05 ram 1500 with the hemi.

To start off my only mods and most important were adding my Razorbacks and USMC sticker to the back glass. I also removed the front air dam and gained 3 feet of clearance it seems like on the front end. I'm on the fence about a leveling kit but think i'm gonna pass, even though they look great with them. I had a leveling kit and 33'' tires on my dodge and around the 100k mile mark my front end was shot to hell. I'm kinda weary of them now. I might change my mind later but as of now I'm considering just going with a wider 275/65r18 tire.

I love the ride of the chevy and the lack of road noise. I'm not to fond of the whisper quiet exhaust, it was a huge change from the flowmaster super 40 on the ram. I've been researching some exhaust and so far the muffler delete seems to be a good mellow sound i'm looking for. lol. Towing with the Silverado is a lot better than with the ram when it comes to handling my 17' bass boat. The chevy feels like it has total control of the boat especially on breaking. My only complaint is the 5.3 seems to lack the "want to" on throttle response compared to the dodge. It almost seems hesitant compared to the Hemi that wanted to open up and run.

The truck hasn't been off the pavement yet but come hunting season it will get plenty of use driving the National forest and wildlife management areas. I plan on upgrading to a better all terrain before then, I don't think those soft wrangler rs tires would make it through hunting season. I'm really digging the BFG KO2's.
