14 Silverado color matched grille insert?

Looking for any help on which grille insert fits the OEM color matched grille. Seems there are two varieties Z71 and regular. If anyone has the color matched grille and put an insert which one did you get?

 

The measurements for the top insert opening measured across the top section is 47 x 3 1/4 and the bottom measured across the top is 46 1/2 x 5 1/2.

They will all interchange. I put a High Country insert in a WT Grille surround. FYI the Body Color surround comes with the insert either chrome or black.

I was looking at getting a Trex insert and they have the 2 different inserts which are a different sizes.

I already bought the color matched grill. The insert on that one isn't removable so I was gonna get a Trex X metal which installs over it.

 

I'm just trying to find out which one fits the color matched grille. The regular or Z71 version.

The insert most definitely comes out look at my grill in the for sale section. As I said before the insert WILL interchange...Take some time and look at the back side of the grill and there will be a bunch of tabs that will need to be pressed to unlock the outer shell.

I see what you mean. What I was referring to was the insert like this being removed

Many of these say fits Z71 or doesn't fit Z71. So I need to find out what style the color matched grille would fit. You can see in the video link above that the Z71 grille they are installing doesn't fit the opening of the LT around 10:24 mark.

 

I have a High Country so I can't even use my existing grille to determine size.

Not sure why they say it doesn't fit Z71 or WT grilles... They measure the same.

My guess is because the inserts attach to the stock grill either to the honeycomb like my insert with metal clips and you crew it tight to the honeycomb. I would guess cus the z71 and high Country have the difference grill they would attach different. Therefore they say will fit or not.

Didn't think of it that way. I was thinking they were different sizes.
