Engine and gears for lifted gmc

Hey guys, im new here. I was wanting some advice on the 15 gmc 1500. Im buying one next month and im going to do a 6-7" lift with 35s. I was wonder if you guys think the 5.3 or 6.2 would be better? I'm thinking in the 5.3 you can get 3.42 gears, and all I have seen online for the 6.2 is like 3.24. Can you get 3.73s in the 6.2 as an option? I been looking at the all terrain in the SLT maybe thats why i've only seen the 3.24 gears, but I would be okay with just a SLT. Towing- I will be towing a lifted up cherokee to Moab, Utah about once to twice a year and every other weekend I will be towing an atv or two dirtbikes for play time. jeep is about 3600lbs with bumpers and such, and the trailer the jeep will be on is about 1,500-2000lbs. As far as atv and bikes, thats right at 1600lbs for atv and trailer, lighter than that if I just have the bike. Also what kind of fuel mileage can I see? 14-16 combined with lift and tires?

Thanks guys, Matt.

The best you can get in a 6.2 is the 3.42 with max tow. Dont let the gear deter you though. The 6.2 also has the 8 speed. A 3.23 with the 8 speed wont be so bad.

Personally I would purchase a 6.2L with 3.23 gears and then post lift upgrade to 3.73 or 4.11's. My ubderstanding is that with the new 8 speeds gearing the 3.73 gears would act like a 6 speed with 4.11's. My 2014 with the 6.2L currently gets 12-14mpg city and 16-18mpg highway. Unfortunately for me my highway still sucks because I need bigger gears to stay in V4 and I have some hilly roads. Flat ground you'll see better MPG with proper gears.
