If any of you guys have ever had a toyota truck with a 22r 4 banger in it you might be able to help me.  I have a 1982 Toyota Celica with the 22r and I have an overcharge problem that I can't track down.  On the way to work this morning it developed this problem.  The volt gauge read up to 16 volts even with all acc. and light on bright above 2k rpm.  Below 2k I was able to keep it around 14 w/ all acc. on.

I replaced the altinator and the overcharge problem has gone away, but the indicator light for an erratic charge is still iluminated.  I checked the four terminals that conect to the back of the altinator for voltage.

BAT: has battery voltage when ignition is in on or off position (normal)

L terminal:  has no batery voltage when the ignition is in the on position (not normal)

Ignition: has battery voltage w/ ingition in on position

S terminal: has battery voltage at all times (normal)

When the indicator light came on the brake light came on and has not gone off (brake light usually comes on only when E-brake is on).  I don't know if I have a short or a coroded connetion somewere.  I need to get a wirring diagram but won't be able to until tuesday (easter holiday) .  I would go to a toyota site or something but there aren't anything but ricers at a place like that.

Thanks in advance.
