Ford T-Bar Keys with Uneven Factory Adjustment

Hey guys, newbie to this forum.  Lots of good info here.

 

I have an 03 Silverado EC 4x4.  I have ordered the Ford T-Bar keys.  Like some of you, my factory adjusters are up about half way on the one side and almost all the way on the other side.  How should I set the Ford keys?  Should they be even on both sides or still uneven?  Also my truck has the electronic ride adjust.  Anyone used the Ford keys with these shocks?  Any problems doing that?  I don't want to crank them up all the way, just 1-1/2" or so.

Hard to tell with the adjustment till you get it on.  I would think that if stock was like that than the ford keys will be lopsided as well. As long as you don't crank the piss out of the bars you should have no problems with the shocks.  I personally don't have those shocks but maybe someone else her does.

Well, to answer my own question.  I installed the Ford keys today.  When I took the old keys out, I counted 13 turns to bottom on the right side and 8 1/4 turns to bottom on the left.  When I installed the Ford keys, I reset the adjusters to the same setting.  13 turns up on the right side and 8 1/4 turns on the left.  I let the truck down and went for a ride to settle everything in.  Then, I measured the height again.  I gained 1 3/4 inches on both sides with just the Ford keys.  This is right where I want to be.  It levels the truck out nice.  So, the offset must be in the torsion bar since both of the old keys look the same.  I have bar# LYH on the left side and bar# RYH on the right.
