will 99-06 tpms sensor system recognize the sensors on 07-14 wheels?

i have my 06 denali xl and for this winter i am looking at getting a set of 20" avalance rims that have the tpms in them.

will the toms from the 07-14 gen fullsizes "connect" with the 99-06 gen?

i found the relearn procedure but what i am after is if the sensors changed so they are incomptible or if they will all work.

cheers. im driving to look at the rims now.

We had a customer who had a set of 07-14 on his 2004 (GM dealer with GM tpms tool). Tire light was on he said "can we learn the sensors." Sensors would not learn. If I had to guess, its something with the frequency of the system.

Keep in mind there is a difference between re- learning and programming. Re-learning is like when you rotate the tires and you want to re-learn the position that the tire has been moved to (they are already programmed into module). And programming is when you have new sensors (or different sensors) and they have to be programmed to the module. And for that you need a TPMS tool or a Tech 2 that is capable of doing the programming. Sorry I don't know if they are compatible or not.

thanks all. what a pita.

i bought the 4 wheels for $200. I think i will just sell them. They have working tpms in them but i really cant be bothered with the hassle. I will just pay my $200 a year to get my winters on and off.

appreciate the responses.

I have a question that I hope someone could help me out on. I have a 04 Suburban, last week I bought tires and rims from a stock 2011 Silverado, the tires are the same size as my other ones were, so I put on the newer ones that I bought and my Service Tire Monitor came on , now I tried to do the re-learn method, but I don't think its that, I think it has to do with the computer pairing up with the sensors. Would those sensors work from the Silverado onto my Suburban ? Is their anything I can do to make these work or have them programmed to my truck.
