2006 yukon denali family/school hauler with 107000 miles

just wondering what your pad life is with these size suvs.

at 90000 miles the rears started to squeel like crazy and they resurfaced the rotors and replaced pads for a bit over 300 bucks

that was the first time the vehicle has ever had brake work

are these pads that good?

i went in today for an oil change and asked to have the front brakes evaluated....they have not squeaked yet.

I was told they have 65% remaining.....what is that correlated in the mm size?

also, whats the story with durastop pads? is that a lower model of pads vs what came with the vehicle

thank

On my 2006 Sierra SLT 4x4 1/2 ton truck, I had a bad squeal from the front brakes at around 78,000 as I recall. The only real problem was the right front caliper had gotten stuck a little sideways and caused the inner lining to wear uneven, and the squealer tip was rubbing the disc. The total lining wear otherwise was maybe 20 to 25%. I replaced the front linings and rear drum shoes "just because", but if it hadn't been for that uneven wear, the way I drive, the OEM linings would probably have gone well past 150,000 or so. I replaced the front linings again and also the discs when I did the front axle hubs, I think that was around 120,000. I have 157,000 now, the rears are showing almost no wear and I expect my brakes to last until 200,000 at least. But I am easier on brakes than most people, I mostly drive the highway and don't use them much.
