Vinyl Wrapping Mirrors and Door Handles

Recommended Posts

I have the chrome door handles and mirror caps and I have been thinking about vinyl wrapping them white to match my paint. Does anyone have any experience wrapping them? I was thinking about using the Glossy white 3m 1080 vinyl wrap, I have heard it is a pretty close match to the summit white paint.

I did two sets of mirror caps for mine. Basically a primary and alternate set in case one set gets nicked or something. Make sure they are clean and remember that 3m prep is your friend. It helps with bonding. Use a heat gun, but be careful on the sharp angles. Too hot and the plastic will cut the film.

Check out my build and see for yourself. Most of my carbon was wrapped last year and it's still perfect. I make sure and put a bit of zymol titanium -or- mcguires black on it every now and then and still looks new.
