1999 Tahoe Straight Pipe question

Hello,

My friend was trying to tell me that I couldn't straight pipe my tahoe. I didn't know whether to believe him or not because he has fed me false information before, but I just wanted to make sure. I was thinking about buying a Straight Through muffler to make the tahoe sound louder

You can straight pipe pretty much anything. But keep in mind your emissions laws and keeping an o2 sensor in there

small chamber heads and an o2 that knows how to feed it..

it may shorten life of the vortec, and simply sound good doing it.

 

just be sure all 3 sensors are still there. the fourth catalyst one.. as long as you are not in cali, it can be ingored.

I have a manual tranny that triggers a 420 cat code due to lugging gears...no known fix, unless someone rewrote the code.
