I just bought a 2000 3500hd with factory cab lights and they don't work. Checked all the fuses that I can find and can't locate any kind of wiring diagram for this. Can anyone help???? Thanks

Hi Karen, The wiring for the roof clearnace lights goes over to the PASSENGER side of the cab, and down the "A" pillar" ( where the edge of the front windshield is), It travels down to a junction/fuse box on the EDGE of the dash. Open the passenger door all the way and you can then pry off this triangle shaped cover. The roof light plugs in down at the bottom of theis and it can be hard to see. You may want to re set it ( unplug and plug back in) and check fuses there. Also this harness has a ground up under the inside roof panel. These lights are known for leaking and I usually end up putting black silicone over the screws to help seal them. Good luck!!

There is not a panel on the passenger dash. There are no wires in the passenger door A pillar. The wires end on the last light on the passenger side. They run down the A pillar on the drivers side. They are a black(ground) and brown(hot wires). With a volt meter we checked the continuity to show there isn't a break. Coming off the light switch it doesn't show anything. There is a loop of the black and brown wire behind the dash behind the steering wheel that does register continuity which is after the switch. Very lost here. Thanks for your input

As of right now it looks like we got it. took the wires that were behind the steering wheel and connected them directly to the switch and it worked. Something wrong with the wires in between that loop and the switch. Can't see good enough back there to see anything wrong. I hate electrical! That was a waste of 8 hours. now on to the next problem that I'll post a new thread

They plug into a harness that pops them on with the remote door unlock. I will look at a 2000 model this week, but I think the very end of the dash on pass side has a panel like the drivers side, but Im glad its workin for ya :)

Thanks for the info. This is a bare bones work truck, no power locks and roll up windows. Husband left this morning and the lights were still working!
