Hello I need some help with a break problem on my 98 silverado 4x4. when coming to a stop my truck seems to activate its antilock system ...when stoping normally. i have checked the pads and calipers on the front disk breaks...and found nothing unusual..any suggestions..on whether it could be the anti lock module..and how much does it cost..??

This seems to be a problem that no one on this board can answere.  I have the same problem every once in a while.  And a Co worker with a 98 tahoe has the same problem.  But his got really bad.  He was so sick of brining it to the dealer that he just disconnected the sensors down by the wheel.  My 99 Tahoe does it but it is only on occasion and it isn't bad.  You could try cleaning the front wheel sensors.  They could be dirty or corroded.  I still haven't looked at mine yet.  Good luck.  And if you find it please share.

Ok..I had been reading up on this..and I think it could be the anti lock module..that has gone bad. BUT...its not sold seperately. AND AUTOZONE DOESNT CARRY THIS.  Supposedly you cant get the module unless you get the whole hydraulic unit.  Can anyone help me out with this? Where is the sensor?

Have your front wheel bearings checked.  Mine went bad and started screwing up the ABS at slow speeds while turning.  Got them replaced and it was like new.

Good luck
