1983 Chevy Sierra 1500 - wiring & steering column

Hi all, I bought a project truck with a bad tilt steering column, was given a non-tilt column (was told it would fit this truck) as replacement. Took out & switched columns but wiring plug-ins do not match. Do I have to have an exact match for this year or is there some way to adapt wiring to the replacement column? I need a wiring diagram to find out what runs what, for the steering column as well as engine as there are a some wires that have been snipped by previous owner. Thanks for any help.

To start off you will need the wiring diagram for your truck. And the wiring diagram from the truck that the steering column came out of.
