Hood Latch Paint

I got a good deal on a left over '15 last week and when I opened the hood the other day I noticed that the latch isn't painted.

 

In fact, the area around the front of the hood doesn't look as finished as the rest of the truck.

 

I didn't see that at the dealer but now I'm sort of wondering.

 

Before I go to the dealer I want to check and see if anyone else has seen this.

 

I don't think the truck's been wrecked or anything. It had 300 miles on it when I got it.

 

What do you think? Is it normal or should I be concerned??

Looks normal since the latch was on the hood when they painted it and they just didn't feel the need to paint that part as long as they got the main part that's in the hood. If you notice, all they will worry about is the aprt of the latch that's inside the hood, not that part of it that sticks out that catches the latch. Plus that's a wear area I would think so any paint would come off anyways. I wouldn't worry about it.

My concern was that on every new car I've ever had the inside of the hood was fully painted and looked as finished as the outside.
