Ordered new tires for my Kodiak and got them installed this morning. I put 1600 miles on the original Dunlop 2-ply set and finally got real ones on there now. Titan AT489s which are 3-ply:

What did those shoes cost ya....... My dad has a Yamaha that is in desperate need of tires, and thoose look like a good fit for him, agreesive tread and a little higher ride plus the 3 ply will be good for around the farm.

TIA!!

$64.99 each for the rears 25x10-12

$59.99 each for the fronts 25x8-12

Ordered them online. The stupidist thing was finding someone to mount them. When the atv or tire shops find out you're not buying the tires from them they don't want to do it. Finally got them put on at a service station for $5 each. Don't know how they'll wear but they definitely bite better-I can stop alot quicker now.

That is a might fine trailer you have there. :smash:

Way sweet! A little overkill for a 4 wheeler, but hey, thats what you're supposed to do, right?

Cool!! Wal-Mart has Titan 489s some of the time, not sure if they are any cheaper than that or not. I need some new ones on the rear of mine or so I thought but I have been having a ton of fun with them lately. They slide around and do burn outs really well now that there is only 1/2" or so tread left (2wd) and I am still not doing too bad on the trail with them; they are the stock dunlops. I did have a trailer like that but couldnt get 3 ATVs in mine so I just traded it in on the open kind. Can get four on there now!

Didn't know Walmart had atv tires-I'll have to go look at the prices. One of my old tires was losing air and the traction was starting to go. I noticed right off the new tires stop better and don't skid like the old ones did.

The trailer is 16'x7'. I've had three in there before-we turned the front 2 sideways and had room to just pull the last one in and we put a fourth in the bed. I'm pretty sure I can fit four in there sideways but it would be tight. I can haul the tractor and tools, unhitch and leave them locked up so I can run to town without dragging it all over the place. Same with the atvs-I can take four guys with camping gear & lock up at the trail parking lot or hotel/campground and not worry about some idiot stealing the seats (yes it happened to me  )!

You been to Hatfield/McCoy this year much Silv? What size atv trailer did you end up getting BTW?

Over Kill for a quad? No way. Those are wussie compared to some. You should see the High Lifter Outlaws, Or the ITP Gators and Mudzillas. But those 489's are great tires to keep stock caractoristics. And have great Bite. I was going to get Titan 589's for my sportsman with some ITP cast aluminum polished wheels. The 589's are beasts 1 1/4" lug depth. But I ended up selling it. Anyone interested www.nebraskatire.com sells tires at a really really really really low rate. They are all seconds where the lettering on the sides was bad and stuff like that. They just rub the lettering off and sell them dirt cheep. I know a few who have bought them and they were great. Check it out.

Very good tires that you got their. They wear really good, My dad pullaris has 3900miles on the same tires.

A while back I had 589mts. Put on my eiger and man do the go good in the mud. The lugs on them are about 1 1/4inch deep!!

My trailer was a narrower version than yours and I couldnt get them sideways (thats what hurt). Now I have a 6x14 (inside dimensions) open utility trailer with e brakes and such (pretty nice). Beckley WalMart has the 489s off and on and the Trail Wolfs some of the time.

Actually I have never went to Hatfield McCoy, would love to go but I dont even know where to get on or anything. Have you been?

Silv,

Check out the website-it has maps to all the trailheads and maps of the trails. You live in the southern half of the state don't you? Should be a short trip for you.

Hatfield-McCoy Trails website...

I've been down three times this year-we usually stay for a night or two. There are at four different trailheads with separate trail systems but I've only been to two of them. You can ride all day and not cover all of any one trail. Some of the nearby towns even allow atvs on the city streets so you can go eat and fill up with fuel. Makes for a nice weekend trip.

I think he was talikng about my trailer Brandon! Not the tires! I know what you mean about the 589s though. A few of my buddies have them. I didn't want to buy new wheels though and I couldn't find 25" 589s for my stock rims.

Ron,

Do you know if there are any limitations as far as age goes for riding at the H/M Trails? My sone is 10 and rides his LT80. Would he be allowed to ride there?

I want to try and take some leave and spend a day or two camping there with my son this summer. Can you ride from your campsite to the trails, or is it too far away? If I can get the time off, I'll let you know, and maybe we can meet there.

You too SilveradoWV.

Tom,

Adult supervision for kids under 16 and all atv riders must meet the particular atv manufacturers minimum age requirement. I've seen alot of kids on little dirtbikes and atvs so I don't think it's a problem at all.

Depending on what trailhead you go to, there are several campgrounds and cabins you can access directly from the trail on your bike or atv. I know for sure the Waterways and Bear Wallow trails have camping or cabins right next to them. Drop me an email and I can give you some phone #s & websites to the places I know about. Sounds good-we plan to get down there at least three more times over the summer/fall but don't know when or which trail yet.
