Leak under the dash - 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali

I recently purchased my new truck at the end of May and have since had a few issues. One evening I was checking on the vehicle (because the Denali is my leisure ride and I don't drive it that often) I opened the drivers side door to find water in the rubber mat and water soaking the carpet in the floor board. I immediately drove it over to the dealership. There were a few other issues that I will not get into in this discussion so I was going to take it in anyway. Needless to say I was pretty peeved. After about 7 calendar days I got the truck back. According to the service department the shark fin was the culprit. I thought this was odd because the headliner was not wet at all, but I went with it. Three days later we had a rain overnight. The next morning (which was a Monday) I opened the door to head off to work. The floorboard was again soaked and water was pouring out from under the dash above the brake pedal, soaking wires and whatever circuitry is there. I again took it in to the dealership and they looked it over and called yesterday to tell me the sunroof drain on the driver's side was the issue. I am crossing my fingers this time.

I am pretty upset about it. I called GMC and they were absolutely no help. They basically told me that they are not in the business of building vehicles that don't leak and it happens from time to time. The first level GMC person was very kind. The 2nd level GMC person over the phone was awful, incredibly rude, unknowledgeable and essentially said there was nothing they could do. At one point the women was telling me her "brothers were mechanics". It was totally the strangest and awful customer service experience of my life. She also stated that buying a new vehicle was "a game" and that "she wished her vehicle had a warranty". I have never spoken to anyone in customer service that was so unhelpful and had such a lack of knowledge for customer service. It was a total waste of an hour of my time. Towards the end of the conversation I asked to speak to her supervisor and there was a long silence. When I asked if anyone was on the line still she told me to "hold on" and that her supervisor would call at 2:30 PM yesterday. I told he I would be in a meeting and to call me at 4 PM. She then basically told me she would ask if her supervisor had the time to respond. In the end her supervisor never called me. Wowwwww.... just wow.......

Call corporate. Don't waste time with off shore people who are reading from a script. Who could give 2 shits.

Today I went and got the my truck. As soon as I open the door it smells like cherries, but not in a good way. I ask the GM service adviser "what did they spray in here?" and he stated it was "window cleaner". I believed him. When I get home I inspect under the carpet. The insulation is still wet and the rubber on the bottom of the carpet has a light covering of water on it from condensation. So they had reinstalled the insulation and carpet without it fully drying. To make matters worse the insulation smelled like feet. I then smell the carpet and the carpet at every door smelled like cherries. Not to mention I noticed a scrape on the rear drivers side passenger door panel and deep scratch in my rear passenger driver paint around the interior door. I figured that they sprayed some air freshener on my carpet to cover up a smell and also scratched things up removing the front seat. Not to mention they did not repair a trim piece they had broken. I am incredibly frustrated at this point and called the service adviser, the service manager and the general sales manager as well as my salesman. I finally get in touch with the service manager and he is apologetic and says they will take care of it. I have no faith in this dealership, but I don't know what to do at this point because the problems they have caused another dealer will not fix. I am completely bummed about the whole thing and feel really helpless. 1-800-GMC-TRUC GM service reps I called are no help and the dealer keeps making things worse. I can't believe I payed that much for a vehicle and all of these things are happening from a simple water leak.
