Humming noise

Ok guys I am at a loss, I have a 07 tahoe Lt. Last week towing trailer home, first came the smell of burning oil, then a humming, like I am running MT tire, which I am not. Upon getting it home, found that the pinion seal was leaking, cause of the smell, found a good mechanic, who opened the difference, and has replaced the pinion bearings, front seal, axel seals, and basically rebuilt the differential. Hum still present, noise only while in gear, suspect transmission, dropped pan, drained fluid, which looked fine, added a conditioner, replaced seal. Noise still present. Then ABS lights came on, computer said RIGHT rear sensor, replaced that. Noise louder, lights still on. So far 1800$ in, not resolved, getting worse. Any thoughts. Running out of patience, time and money. I need to be 500 miles away, on a project this week and can't trust truck to go yet.

Right rear axle bearing going bad, heating up ABS sensor and cooking it? All speculation...
