NHT 9.5 pinion seal leaking, updated yoke?

I just noticed my truck with only 17,000 miles is leaking at the pinion seal, its out of GM waranty because it's a 2011, but I do still have a 3 month 3000 mile coverage. My question is, is there a TSB or updated yoke for this application. I have a 100$ deductible. I can replace the seal my self for under that and not be inconvenienced with out a vehicle. I have the option to take it anywhere under my warranty , I was only going to a dealer if there was a updated yoke that gets installed at which point would cost over the deductible and I would just let them do it and it would be covered. Thanks

No TSB that I could find.

Pinion seal is GM part#26064029, and the pinion nut is GM part#88891763.

Any idea what the in service date was on your truck? If the warranty was activated between 7/20/11 and 12/31/11 you'd still have powertrain coverage.

Thanks, I did located the seal, most likely reuse the nut. Just wanted to check about the yoke. Low miles for it to be leaking. Checked for play while on lift, all seems good.

Yea I checked, it ran out on 3/29/16, does list special coverage 11273 is still active along with the emissions and corrosion coverage. I'm not sure what the special coverage 11273 is says good till 3/29/2021 or 120,021 miles

They do recommend using a new nut since its a lock nut.

11273 is for the throttle position sensor replacement.

Thanks for the numbers, I know they recommend replacing the nut, dab of lock tight and it will be fine. Im not disassembling everything just to change the seal so I like to use the old nut with a reference mark as guide.

Why is there such a warranty for the tps?

Is it possible to have the tps issue resolved or replaced before it becomes a problem, funny now that I think of it, didn't seem like anything till now. I do notice that when I start it up it seems like it hunts for the idle rpm. Other words it idles up like normal then down but it goes down to far like it stumbles then comes up if that makes sense

Only if your having the problem.

What I listed sounds like a problem?

Without listening to it I can't be sure, I know my old '07 would idle up, then down, then it might seem like it was stumbling for just a second or two, but it always leveled out nice and smooth, Never had any issues and never had a check engine light come on in the 8-years/52,000 miles I had it!

The ones we change here the trucks all have either the reduced engine power light on, or are throwing some kind of DTC.

That being said you could always have a dealer check it out, wouldn't hurt, but be warned, if its not throwing a code/DTC they will probably want to charge you a diagnostic fee.
