2016 GMC Sierra LG 7" Non Bose Subwoofer install

I installed a sub woofer last night and wanted to share my experience. I have a 2016 Sierra in elevation trim with the Factory 7" LG radio. I "assumed" the wiring behind the radio would be the same as the 8" Non Bose radio others have documented. It is in fact a slightly different layout. As others noted, the 8" Non Bose radio has a green plug behind the radio and the wire colors are noted below.

 

With the Factory 7" LG radio the wires ARE the same color as below but the plug is not green or on the left. There is no green plug at all. The speaker wires were instead on the right plug which I believe was brown on my sierra elevation.

 

I could not find this info anywhere on the internet so wanted to post it here. Hope this helps someone!

 

 

Left Front Speaker (+/-) // blue - brown/blue

Right Front Speaker (+/-) // yellow - yellow/black

Thank you so much for positing this information. I have the same truck and could not figure out why my wiring did not match the all the other 2016 Sierra's. I was about to go crazy until i came across your post. So thank you again for posting this.
