Reg. Cab Silverado 1500

Hello, I just got my second truck ever and I don't have much knowledge on how to set things up on a truck but I do have a great idea of what I'm trying to achieve. I've looked around on the forums a bit and decided to ask you guys what the best way of going about things are. So my truck is a Single Cab Silverado 1500 LT, I've seen a picture of one that I absolutely fell in love with but with my skills I don't know if its possible to obtain without paying someone.

I've read what all the person had done to the truck and it sits on 22x14's on a 8" lift. Is this reasonable at all to do or am I going to run into a lot of rubbing where Ill need to cut into the truck?
