Wiper, intermittent problem

With wiper stalk in OFF position, the wipers make a single pass each time the engine is started, and then do same thing at odd times, not regular, it can be 15 or 20 minutes between this happening, or not at all. Wiggling the wiper stalk doesn't cause it. If wiper stalk is clicked to any normal position (intermittent, low or hi) the wipers work correctly.

 

Any idea would be appreciated. This is on a 1994 P30 chassis in a motorhome, but the wiper/turn signal/cruise control seems to be exactly the same as on my Suburban.

Most likely wiper control module inside the wiper motor/gearbox housing in the engine compartment.

 

There is recall and TSB but all of the replacement boards seen to date still has cold solder joints

....slip rings/grease pic and where to put grease....use dielectric grease...spark plug boot silicone grease is best....buy tooth paste sized tube for about $5 bucks.
