1999 Chevrolet Suburban No Start

I've been around the block with my suburban hunting rig.

 

First no start was the dreaded "Anti-Theft" issue. Only does it every now and then, but I figured out you can leave the key turned of for ten minutes and it goes away...

 

On to this weekend, get to the ranch, go to fire truck up. No fire. Take intake off and dribble some gas into the intake. Fires up and runs fine.

 

It seems very sluggish at 1/2 & 3/4 throttle. I'm thinking fuel pump... Everytime I kill it and try to restart, I have to dribble gas into the intake.....

 

I had fuel pump, distributor, wires & plugs. changed last year.

 

Do I need to buy a fuel pressure gauge and check it?

after it sits for a bit, see if you have any pressure left at the fuel rail

What gauge do I need and where do I check it?

 

There's a valve stem type thing poking up behind the intake. I've passed the stem in with a screw driver and fuel shot out.

you need a pressure gauge good for at least 70psi. that is the port to hook the gauge upto
