2005 Avalanche 1500. very slow fill of fuel. I have replaced the vent solenoid and the problem continued. To test it, I completely removed the canister and the purge valve, but the fill is still very slow. When i pulled out the cannister, charcoal came out of the fitting on the cannister. Any thoughts on the cause?

The cause is easy, overfilling the tank and you ended up filling the EVAP canister. Check your filler neck for a kink or an obstruction. If you remove the vent valve gas should flow in uninhibited.

I was thinking it had to be the canister, but the problem continued with the canister completely removed from the truck.

Any other ideas? I am out of ideas.

I would check the line from the tank to the canister. It sounds like it's not letting any vapor flow. It might be good to check the filler neck too.

I'm having the same issue on a '10 ccsb 4.8l, I think it's the anti-siphon device in the filler neck that's causing my issue. I also replace the vent selonoid and still have the issue. Hopefully one of us can find a fix.

I can eventually get mine to fill, but it takes a while. The pump clicks off all the time. I have to hold the nozzle just right.
