Installed Elite E2-X Catch Can

Sorry no pics yet will try to get them in the next few days of the install and location, but I installed the Elite E2-X Catch Can with the single Exit port this past Sunday night with 511 miles on my truck.

 

 

Installation was easy, directions were great from the PDF file on EE's web-site.

 

 

I did check everything for oil residue, pooling oil, anything remotely close inside the air box, or throttle body like a lot of folks have stated they found during their catch can installation and with nothing found I am hoping it was due to the low miles on my truck and where it has only had 93 octane in it the engine has been burning cleaner.

 

 

The mounting location I had been set on installing it utilizing the master cylinder bolt, but due to the blockage of getting to the oil dipstick I had to change location to the spare battery compartment utilizing the windshield fluid reservoir bolt for now. I did follow the installation instructions by removing the 8.8 screw holding the battery base down to change out with the shorter 8.8 holding the windshield fluid reservoir in place.

 

 

After speaking with Steve, I also installed the check valve on the exit side of the can per the instructions and like some have posted about doing.

 

 

Ky weather is a roller coaster now, we are 20’s for highs one day and next day it will get up to 60.

 

 

After I put 1000 miles or a little more I will drain the catch can and post all results of the findings.

 

 

Little trick for this install in the ferrule fittings, take the rubber hose and soak it for 60 seconds in a bowl of hot water, 'hot enough you will not to put your hands in it" and then start the end of the hose by pushing the hose around the fitting until it is completely started, after that just work the hose around until it seats, this worked great for me and the hose went in the ferrule fittings easily doing this.

 

I cut the hose close to the catch can ferrule fittings so the hose would have stability, then I zip tied the hoses together for routing the hoses to give the check valve area better structural integrity, keeping them neat, and easier to remove encase I have to.
