Multi-prong Spark Plug

Has anyone ever used one of the Bosch multi-platinum spark plugs? I've heard that the Platinum 2 is supposed to increase gas mileage by a little. I've also heard they are longer lasting and better for the motor. The platinum 3s and 4s seem a bit over kill, but the 2 could be a decent investment. I've got a 94' 4300 w\ 156,100 miles.

I used them in an older vehicle, but really didn't notice much of a difference compared to doing a tuneup with normal plugs/wires/cap. Supposedly with the platinum it will last longer than copper, but people say the platinum caps have been known to fall off and go through the engine. I've read if you have a modified ignition system copper plugs that are overgapped are actually the best for flame expansion and power. It also said Iridium plugs with tiny electrodes are best for engines running rich and make the most power with stock ignitions that are underpowered.

Multi-prong is pretty useless. Electricity always takes the path of least resistance, so there is always only ONE spark.

Yeah, what he said.

Only benefit to platinum is longevity. I don't mind changing them every 30k and I like the smoother idle of the coppers (NGK TR-55).

You can stick w/ the Delcos, or, I have read alot of threads here and see alot of the guys using the NGK plugs so they might be a good option for you too! :)

I was going to post a question like that when the time came to change the plugs on the grey ghost- only 12,000 miles now.

I am a big fan of the NGK's for $2 or the Iridium.

Bosch platinum spark plugs are junk. :D As a tech, I have pulled them out of more cars and trucks where they were causing a problem. Put oem parts in your vehicle.
