I came across a 94 Chevy Silverado 1500 swb last week for cheap last week so I bought it. The guy was asking $750 but I ended up getting it for $600. It has a clean title and runs but the paint is very rough with scratches all over it and the top of the cab has surface rust. I was planning on reselling it but I am thinking about keeping it for my 15 year old son and fixing it up for him. If he doesnt want it I have two of my friends wanting to buy it for more than double what I paid. I had in sitting in my front yard with a for sale sign and have had a lot of people interested but decided against.

Anyway the tires are almost new so that is a plus and the interior is pretty good even though i dont like the colors, the driver door panel is hanging off though. The power windows both work which surprised me, the ac does not which sucks but I cant complain for $600 The guy who sold it to me said the transmission slips sometimes but i have not noticed it but he also said he didnt know anything about cars and I am wondering if the throttle response(right wording??) I am experiencing is what he was referring to. When I get on the gas it seems like the throttle is not smooth at all and a serious delay. When I had it in my front yard a kid with one all fixed up stopped by trying to buy the wheels and I had him drive it and he popped the breather off and said the fuel flow into the carb was not like it should be and said I should replace the filter as well. I have not had a mechanic look at it yet. Another issue I have found is the steering it very loose and will jerk to the left fairly strongly. One day last week when i was driving it around to check it out the right front wheel locked completely up but after it set a bit it freed up and it has not done it since. It doesnt get hot or it hasnt in the 30 minutes or so I have drove it so that is a plus and it doesnt smoke that I have seen or appear to have any oil leaks.

I would appreciate any input on things to check and any tips or suggestions.
