I have a 2003 Sierra with the standard CD/AM/FM radio. I just purchased a portable mp3/wma player. Ideally I would hook the player lineout to the radio aux input... is there one?

If not I figure a good portable FM modulator would do. Any recommendations?

I think JP Customs has an Aux. input hookup you can get for your truck. If there isn't one for the 03's, I have a PYLE FM Modulator. I know the name recognition isn't that great for Pyle but it works. I do get some interference when I am cities but that is because I do not have the right adapter to hook the antennae cables together securely so it isn't a strong signal. Check out ebay for FM Mods. I got mine off there for $20 or so.

I also have an 03 Sierra and I want to do similar to what you are wanting to do. I have not found an aux input for the radio. The ones I found said "1999-2002 not compatible with 2003" What did you find? What did you end up doing?

I just used an FM Modulator I got off ebay. Then just tune your radio to whatever station that the modulator is programmed for (mine is 88.9 I think) and the sound comes through. I would recommend getting an antenna adapter so that the fit is perfect with the modulator. Then the modulator won't pick up interference from other radio stations with the same frequency

Definitely go with the AUX output from JP Customs. I tried this about a year ago and was extremely unhappy with the sound quality from an FM modulator.

If you want MP3 functionality, I would highly recommend a new head unit. I bought an Alpine CDA-9811 from etronics.com and was extremely satisfied.
