4-Wheeler Review

:D I happened to pick up a 4-Wheeler mag at the store this weekend and read over the review between the dodge, ford and chevy, anyone else read this. Well I guess the Ford was chosen in the shootout. Dont remember the exact wording but it was the new motor and trans that made the differance. According to the article the ford had more usable tourqe especialy when pulling up a steep hill. Also the down hill engine breaking was better. I guess I was not aware that the new powerstroke was that much better. It is hard to imagine the transmision being better than the Alli. Must be one heck of a truck. Anyone else read this article and what do you think? :)

All I can say is that the consumer is the real winner of that shootout. Obviously Ford felt they had to improve their trucks because of the Chevy Duramax as did Dodge. Now we can see what Chevy does to answer the challange. Isn't compitition great?!

I guess that's great if you plan to go wheeling alot, but the allison will always be a better transmission when hauling, whether its the 8.1 or duramax. Not to mention when coming down a steep grade whether pulling weight or wheeling, the allison works AWESOME! Cant imagine anything being better.

Wandell, yes the consumer is the winner and maybe the looser. I know that the competition makes products better and I think that is great except for the fact that then I want whatever is new and the $$ is we loose. All that competition makes for a higher price tag. Oh well cant take it with you I guess. Hendy Photo I cant imagine a better combo than what GM has come up with except that if the Ford is better it would have to be one hell of a truck. :)

They should have told everyone about the new strokers getting recalled at an alarming rate.I don't see how an auto can be better than a ally.Anyone notice they always pick the truck that was most recently updated, regardless of who builds it.

True on the pick of the newest one at the time of the test. I know the interior and ride portion the GM won but they still had to throw in the IFS being less desirable which makes me laugh. :)

I don't remember which off road magazine it was, but I read a comparison a few years ago between Chevy and Ford when the D-max/Ali combo was still new and Ford had the old 7.3. The Chevy combo beat Ford in every category, but they still said Ford was the best....only because it had the leaf spring / solid front axle front end.

What kind of comparison is that?!?!?!?!

Idiots....
