If you have stock wheels you may need to crank your t-bars a little. If you use 8" wide wheels, you WILL need to crank your t-bars and trim the front plastic valance on the bottom of the front bumper.

I have them on mine and yes they rubbed the front corner of the bumper which i trimmed 1" off of when the truck wasn't even a day old. They also rubbed the inner fenders and since they are plastic I drilled a couple small holes in the bottom of them and used zip ties to pull them back out of the way. Worked just fine now. This was without cranking the torsion bars because I tried that first and the harsh ride was not an option.

A month later I installed the green keys and lifted the front 2" to level the truck and now have plenty of clearance and a smooth ride. Not sure if I would have needed to trim if I installed the keys first, but there is enough room to run the factory splash gaurds now.

16x8 Welds w/ 4.5" back spacing!

I have 285/75R16 on 8" Eagle Alloy wheels for my 2500 HD. I trimmed the front bumper and cranked the torsion bars 4 cranks (approx 1"). They still rub on the inner fenders when I turn sharp or hit a hard bump when turning. I heard of all these other guys running 285, 295 and even 305 75/R16 and saying they worked fine. It didn't for me, if I did it all over again I would have went with 265's. Thought I should warn you.

496, try using the zip ties to pull the inner fenders back for clearance. They are plastic and move back about 2". You will have alot more clearance and only takes about 5min to do.

Yeah, I heard of doing that but it won't help in my case. The tire rubs farther outside where the metal fender is right in back of the plastic. Even if it did rub farther to the inside, you can't pull it back on the left side of the truck because the parking brake line runs right in back of it.

I appreciate you trying to help me out though.

What back spacing do you have on your wheels? If its not the back spacing I don't know what to suggest! You will need a minimum of 4.5" of BS for the 16x8. A little more would be better!

I looked up my wheel (Eagle Alloy Series 102) and the offset is -20 mm and the backspacing is 3 5/8. So it looks like that may be the culprit. If it was in another 2 inches it would probably get you in where you could do the zip tie trick. Didn't you have trouble on the left side though where the parking brake line is right up against the plastic fender?

Well, not much I can do now at $ 120-150 a piece I'm not going to be buying new ones anytime soon. Looks like I should have joined this forum sooner. Thanks for the help.

Your wheel are sticking out an inch more on each side than mine. There lies the problem. Shorter tires, suspension lift, or last resort a body lift would help you. There is a small bracket by the parking brake cable on the left. I have the inner fender pulled al the way back to the bracket and the cable runs behind the fender well. Just enough room but it is tight your right. Good luck!
